🐾 Names with a story – our products tell of animal companions

Over the years, I have had and still have many animal companions at my side. We choose the names of our brushes in their honour. For example, the mane brush VIDI, in honour of my first very own mare, La Vida.

The products bear the affectionate nicknames that the animals have been given by me, my husband and my family over the years. Every single Equimour product is therefore a very personal memory honouring a loyal companion.

Body Brush "TORI" : Our dog Hektor, whose nickname is TORI. He's a male Shetland Sheepdog and his birthday is 17.07.2020. Our little Hektor is a real charmer.

Mane brush "VIDI" : We already mentioned our VIDI above, named in honour of my very first own riding horse, La Vida.
I bought La Vida, nickname VIDI, for my 18th birthday and fulfilled a big dream. She's a bay Hanoverian mare born in 2010, by Lauries Crusador x Wolkentanz.
Shine Brush "MO" : When my VIDI developed equine asthma, so that she could only be ridden to a limited extent, we decided on a second riding horse. In 2019, Rimeau came into our lives, a Trakehner gelding born in 2008, by Impetus. His nickname is MO, which our shine brush now also gets to carry.

Root brush "CARA" : The root brush CARA takes its name from a very special companion: our first family dog, CARA, an Irish Terrier bitch. Sadly, our CARA left us far too early, at only 7 years old. She fell ill with tetanus, which is apparently quite rare in dogs. Now her name graces our root brush, a tribute to her forever.

Hoof pick "LILO" : Our family dog Lilo gave her name to our hoof pick. After our Cara sadly passed away far too early, fate brought our Lilo to us. Lilo is also an Irish Terrier bitch, born on 31.12.2012. She only came to my parents at the age of 3, because her previous owners no longer wanted her.

Towel "PAMINO":
Pamino is a super sweet Fjord horse gelding. After I outgrew our Shetland pony, I didn't ride at all for a while until I came back to riding at the age of 11 through a school friend. Pamino was the first school horse I did my rounds with, and he carried me over my first jumps. That's why he'll always stay in my memory.

Fur shine brush "FAVO":
FAVO – actually "Favourite for me" – is my friend Elena's beautiful black gelding, who has carried me through the countryside once or twice when I visited Elena.
When I saw the first sample of our shine brush, its colours immediately reminded me of Favo, and so the name was settled.
Shine Brush "FREDO":
Our cuddliest brush clearly had to be named after our second dog, Fredo. Like Hektor, Fredo is a male Shetland Sheepdog, and he shares a birthday with me on 2 January. He was born in 2024. Fredo is by far the cuddliest & fluffiest dog I've ever touched. His coat is so wonderfully soft that the decision on the name was made. This little bundle of joy has been enriching our lives since March 2024.

Face Brush "MÄXCHEN":
MÄXCHEN, named after my Shetland pony gelding Max, my very first pony and probably the origin of my love for horses. Mäxchen was born in 1992 and is a sweet little chestnut gelding. I took my first riding lessons on him. Today Mäxchen enjoys a wonderful retirement with my mum's friend, who keeps her retired horses right by the house.
