So your pieces stay beautiful.
How to care for your Equimour pieces:
Brushes
Tap out after grooming. If needed, clean with lukewarm water and a mild shampoo, rinse thoroughly and leave to air-dry with the bristles facing down — never on a radiator.
Grooming mitts
Shake out and air regularly. Remove dirt with a damp cloth; do not machine-wash and do not dry in direct sunlight.
Wood
Only wipe with a slightly damp cloth and store dry. Wood doesn’t like standing water — do not soak. Over time a natural patina develops.
Saddle pads
Before washing, brush out hair and dried sweat with a soft brush and close all fastenings — this protects embroidery and edges. Then wash separately on a gentle cycle at 30 °C with liquid detergent, without fabric softener or bleach. Afterwards pull into shape and dry flat in the air; not in the tumble dryer and not on a radiator.
Bandages & bandage pads
Put the bandages rolled up into a laundry bag so the hook-and-loop surfaces don’t pick anything up, and wash at 30 °C on a gentle cycle. Remove hair from the hook-and-loop surfaces before washing. Dry flat, then roll up loosely — this keeps them elastic.
Fly bonnets
Clean by hand in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, do not wring. Carefully pull the ears into shape and let dry flat in the air — this keeps the mesh in shape.
Boots
Let heavy dirt dry and knock it off, then wipe with a damp cloth. Brush the lining and hook-and-loop surfaces dry; let them dry completely before putting them back on the legs.
Faux leather
Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use harsh cleaners or solvents — this keeps the surface and seams looking good for a long time. Also applies to grooming bags, loops and passport covers.
Browbands with paracord
Clean the paracord by hand in lukewarm water with mild soap, rinse with clear water and dry flat in the air — do not bleach, do not tumble dry. Afterwards polish beads and engraved elements with a dry cloth.
Passport covers
Wipe inside and out with a slightly damp cloth and store dry. Take the passport out if it gets wet so nothing warps.
Hay bags
Shake out after use and hang up open to dry — damp hay attacks any fabric. If needed, rinse with clear water, let dry completely and check the net and seams regularly for tears.
Grooming bags & stable organisation
Shake out dust and hair, wipe the inside with a damp cloth and leave open to dry. Do not machine-wash — this keeps the shape and fittings intact.
Lucky tokens & keychains
Polish with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasives or a metal brush. Rub dry briefly after contact with rain or sweat.
Mugs
It’s best to wash the mug by hand with mild washing-up liquid. Do not use scouring pads.
Sprays, shampoo & hoof oil
Store in a cool, dry, frost-free place, shake the bottle well before each use and close it tightly after use. Please do not leave in direct sunlight and follow the instructions on the label.
