🐾 Names with a story – Our products tell the stories of animal companions.

Over the years, I have had many animal companions by my side. We choose the names of our brushes in their honor. For example, the mane brush VIDI is named in honor of my first mare, La Vida.

The products bear the affectionate nicknames that my husband, my family, and I have given our animals over the years. Each Equimour product is therefore a very personal memento honoring a loyal companion.

Horsehair curry comb " TORI" : Our dog Hector, whose nickname is TORI. He is a Shetland Sheepdog male and his birthday is July 17, 2020. Our little Hector is a real charmer.

Mane brush "VIDI" : We already mentioned our VIDI above, in honor of my very first own riding horse, La Vida.
I bought La Vida, nicknamed VIDI, for my 18th birthday, fulfilling a long-held wish. She is a 2010-born brown Hanoverian mare by Lauries Crusador x Wolkentanz.
Goat Hair Shine Brush "MO" : When my horse VIDI developed equine asthma, making her only partially rideable, we decided to get a second horse. In 2019, Rimeau, a 2008 Trakehner gelding by Impetus, entered our lives. His nickname, MO, is now also the name our goat hair shine brush bears.

Cara Root Brush : The Cara root brush is named after a very special companion: our first family dog, Cara, an Irish Terrier. Sadly, Cara left us far too soon at only seven years old. She contracted tetanus, which is apparently quite rare in dogs. Now her name adorns our root brush, a lasting tribute to her.

Hoof pick "LILO" : Our family dog Lilo gave our hoof pick its name. After our Cara sadly passed away far too soon, fate brought Lilo into our lives. Lilo is also an Irish Terrier, born on December 31, 2012. She came to live with my parents when she was three years old, as her previous owners no longer wanted her.

Microfiber towel "PAMINO":
Pamino is an incredibly sweet Fjord horse gelding. After I outgrew our Shetland pony, I didn't ride for a while until I was 11, when a school friend introduced me to riding again. Pamino was the first school horse I rode, and he carried me over my first jumps. He will always hold a special place in my memory.

Coat shine brush "FAVO":
FAVO, actually - Favourite for me, is my friend Elena's beautiful black gelding, who has also carried me through the countryside a few times when I visited Elena.
When I saw the first sample of our shine brush, its colors immediately reminded me of Favo, and so the name was decided.
Sheep wool shine brush "FREDO":
Our cuddliest brush simply had to be named after our second dog, Fredo. Fredo, just like Hector, is a Shetland Sheepdog male and shares my birthday on January 2nd. He was born in 2024. Fredo is by far the cuddliest and fluffiest dog I have ever touched. His fur feels like lambskin, so the name was a no-brainer. This little bundle of joy has been enriching our lives since March 2024.

Goat hair head brush "MÄXCHEN":
Mäxchen, named after my Shetland pony gelding Max, my very first pony, and probably the origin of my love for horses. Mäxchen was born in 1992 and is a sweet little chestnut gelding. I took my first riding lessons on him. Today, Mäxchen lives a wonderful retirement with my mother's friend, who keeps her retired horses right next to her house.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen
